John and his family

I'll always listen and fight for you and your family.

Gungahlin is my community

I was born in Canberra and have lived in Canberra’s North for all of my life.

I grew up in a working-class home, with my parents having migrated from Europe in search of a better life. My parents taught me to work hard and fight for what I believe in.

In the mid-2000s, I married my wife Bernadette, moved to Gungahlin, and together we started a family.

We are the proud parents of two amazing teenage daughters, and like many Canberrans, we’re busy balancing the pressures of work and family life.

Building my business in Canberra

Building my business in Canberra

After finishing school and traveling Europe – riding its buses, trams and trains – I was inspired to start my own transport advisory business in 1997.

Within a year, a hired my first employee. By 2024, I’ve hired well over 50 Canberrans and have built a business that is relied on for transport solutions locally, nationally and across the globe.

In my 27 years in business, I’ve experienced the good years; the tough years; and most recently, the rollercoaster of Covid-19.

Becoming an advocate for change

Becoming an advocate for change

In November 1999, two offenders broke into the home of my grandparents, killing my grandmother, Irma, and severely assaulting my grandfather, Gregor.

For over two decades, their case remained unsolved, with insufficient police funding limiting their investigations.

After 24 years of battling with the ACT Government to progress the investigation, two alleged offenders were arrested in late 2023.

Today, I remain focused on campaigning for our over-worked and under-resourced police force to receive the funding and support they need.

It’s time!

It’s time!

The 2024 election is critical for the future of Canberra.

The Canberra Liberals are offering a positive, fresh approach to tackling the challenges of our great city.

While Labor and the Greens continue the same tired and old thinking that has left Canberrans with some of the worst health, education, and city services in the nation.

I’m motivated to ensure that Canberra is a place of opportunity for my kids as it was for me. A place where families can afford to live, get ahead, and own a home.

Canberra deserves a government that will keep our streets safe; provide world-class healthcare, education, and transport; and deliver the basic city services we all expect.

A government that will manage its finances, lower the cost of living, and make it more affordable for Canberrans to buy, own and rent a home.
