Becoming an advocate for change

ACT robbing families of closure with police funding shortfall

In November 1999, two offenders broke into the home of my grandparents, killing my grandmother, Irma, and severely assaulting my grandfather, Gregor.

For over two decades, their case remained unsolved, with insufficient police funding limiting their investigations.

After 24 years of battling with the ACT Government to progress the investigation, two alleged offenders were arrested in late 2023.

Today, I remain focused on campaigning for our over-worked and under-resourced police force to receive the funding and support they need.

I don’t want any other family in the ACT to experience the same frustrations our family did.

Our families and our police force deserve a better government. A government that will increase the physical presence of police in our community and give them the resourcing and infrastructure they need.
